Darwin
is the Northern Territory’s

CLIMATE
IN DARWIN
Darwin
has a tropical savanna climate with distinct wet
and dry seasons and the average maximum temperature
is similar all year round.
The dry season runs from April/May to October (the
southern hemisphere winter), during which nearly
every day is warm and sunny, and afternoon humidity
averages around 30%, but varies. There is very little
rainfall between May and September. In the coolest
months of June and July, the daily minimum temperature
may dip as low as 14 °C (57 °F), but very
rarely lower, and frost has never been recorded.

Territory Wildlife Park
The Park demonstrates the relationships that exist out
in the wild, between the unique native plants and animals
of the region. Major exhibits include Aquarium, Kangaroos,
Birds of Prey and Nocturnal House.
Darwin Crocodile Farm
The farm is situated on the Stuart Highway. The farm is
home to some 10,000 crocodiles. The crocodiles range
in size from hatchlings just a few centimetres long to
large males over 5 metres in length.
Aquascene
Darwin’s famous fish feeding – a unique and
memorable experience. Everyday at high tide hundreds of
fish come in from the sea to be hand fed – you have
to see it to believe it.
East Point Military Museum
The East Point Military Museum was Darwin’s first
museum. The museum includes videos, artillery and armoured
vehicles, extensive photographs, firearms and aviation,
navy and army exhibits
Batchelor Butterfly Farm
Northern Territory’s only Butterfly Farm situated
in the heart of Bathchelor. Explore the NT’s first
butterfly sanctuary and discover the delightful display
of flora and amazing butterflies.
Australian Aviation Heritage Centre
From the WWII Spitfire to the gigantic B52, the centre
boasts an impressive presentation of aircraft and displays
depicting the NT’s longstanding involvement in
aviation.
Australian
Pearling Exhibition
This world class exhibition contains static, audio visual
and live displays guiding the visitor through the world
of pearling, exploring its history and future.
Crocodylus Park
A unique wildlife wonderland ,
Crocodylus Park is open everyday
from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Main feeding
and tours operate at 10:00am,
12 noon, 2:00pm and 3:30pm. There
are also other activities daily.
Fannie Bay Gaol
East Point Rd. Fannie Bay. Open 7 days.
On East Point Rd the Gaol, now closed, is one of Darwin's oldest buildings, Constructed
in 1883 at a then cost of $10,000 it was the most expensive building in Darwin.
The gaol is now under the control of the National Trust and is open to the public
as a Museum. Check times with the N.T.Tourist Bureau.
